You would go to a lender who can do that for you. There is more to the equation than income. Debts, history, and credit play into the answer and no one here could tell you.

Yes these are areas I would recommend highly to buyers with families. The schools are rated high and well regarded by local residents. I have worked with many buyers and sellers in this general area known as Waterford/Avalon area. There is a huge shopping district with hundreds of stores, many restaurants, and a large theatre. Please contact me for more details about the schools or anything else.

Well, there is a reason they are in the lower prices ranges. Termites are not the big problem, it's the very long very humid summer we have here. Wood and water are not a good mix.

Clearly some people do buy them so it is not a total deal breaker. Just get a good inspector.

Maybe that rule of thumb might work in Florida, but in California, 5-6 times is the reality. During the housing market peaks, the ratio reached 10 times or more, which was unsustainable. If you manage to get all the way down to 4 times in California, then you're living frugally. ... more

6 months ot more constitutes a long term rental so it should not be a problem. Contact the big apartment complexes. Try rent.com they are good for complexes.

Hello Judy. Yes, you could qualify for a home loan from an income perspective. You would essentially be looked at as self employed. Your income would be calculated by averaging the (net)income you declared on your tax returns for the previous two years. Your best bet would be to get in touch with a loan officer and get "pre-approved" prior to starting your home search. If you'd like some recommendations, pleae get in touch with me at (407) 443-2917. Best of luck. ... more

There is no right answer but my opinion is that it would be a great investment. There will always be students and they need housing. University housing prices are limited and prices are going through the roof.i am also a real estate attorney and I do a lot of closings. I am seeing a lot of purchases of properties for student housing around UCF and the pther area colleges. Seems to be the way to go. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
