It really depends on the climate you live in, I would say wood is best and then you can seal it to protect it from deteriorating. Metal might seem more logical as to lasting longer however asthetically most homes have wood and it does look better, it is warmer and more inviting. I have seen some PVC white fencing products that look really nice so that might be an option also. One last thing, if you live in an area with an HOA they might have certain restrictions on allowable fencing products, if thats the case always check with them first. Hope this helps. ... more
