Yes, it's theoretically possible. As for whether you can get a home mortgage, you'll have to consult with a local mortgage agent.

Pleasant Grove is an older very settled subdivision in Olive Branch just east of Hacks Cross off Goodman. Most of the residents have lived here since the homes were new. There is also new construction homes that are gorgeous homes. The schools are Overpark elementary which I have heard nothing but great things about. Centerhill High is also one of the schools with the highest ratings. I think it would be an ideal place to raise children, just a "little off the beaten path" but still not too far from town. Please feel free to call me if you have other questions about any Real Estate in this area. Donna Harig , Crye-Leike 901-230-8275 ... more

That's a good one!! Of course we are all going to say "I am"!! A good way to test a realtor and see how much they really care about people is to tell them you need to rent or lease purchase first and see how far they will go the extra mile. If they are willing to help you find a rental or a lease purchase knowing that you cannot buy right now, then you have found a good realtor. You need someone who cares enough to treat you like their relative and really wants to make sure that they are looking out for you and your best interests. Hope this helps and leads you in the right direction. Also look for a realtor that has their ABR (accredited buyers rep designation) if you are buying. ... more

If you want to use the USDA Rural Development Loan Program for your home mortgage, the home that you want to purchase must be located in an eligible rural area as defined by USDA.

In order to be eligible for many USDA loans, your household income must also meet certain guidelines.

USDA has a website youo can check to determine what areas in your state are eligible for the USDA Rural Housing Development Loan as well as income eligibility requirements.

The site is http://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov/eligibility/welcomeAction.do?pageAction=sfp.

Hi trishamcneal,
Good question! As agents, we are obligated to protect our clients interests at all times. If it is indeed fact and you both agreed that this information can be shared then there shouldn't be an issue, but if you believe this was out of line, talk to your agent about it and specify what you deem acceptable information to share with potential buyers.
If you receive an offer on your home and it isn't acceptable, you can counter it back, and you don't have to necessarily give that bit of info away, plus it will give the p.b. an idea of what you're willing to do/not do.

By "the next Collierville" do you mean packed wall-to-wall with development? Olive Branch has a while to go before that happens, but it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 5 years.

The average sales price in Olive Branch (for single family residential) has declined by around 5%-10% from the previous year. That's not great, but it does beat most of the numbers you see on the evening news. That number may be a reflection that most, if not all of the economic incentives for buyers specifically target first-time homebuyers. Before the economic downturn, builders were targeting Olive Branch for move-up buyers and more high-end housing.

Olive Branch contines to attract businesses and of course, a big plus is the Desoto County school system.
