The easiest way is to go to one of the TKTS booths. The largest one is at 47th and Broadway. They offer discounted tix to same-day shows. The Bway/47th one is huge and hard to miss. Good luck! Hi Ryan,

I hope all is well. I actually write a blog that features some underground NYC activities, from supper clubs to speakeasies. Have a look and let me know if you need anything at all.

Hi Laura,

If you like movies (and who doesn't) then why not attend a New York Oscar Night Party??

There are several throughout the Manhattan and cater to several budgets and themes.

This way you can still have a great dinner, meet new people and watch the Oscars.

I've included a link for some venues.

Best regards,

Having lived in SoHo's neighboring Lower East Side for over 5 years, I have spent many of my weekend evenings in the area, sampling the neighborhood fare. In addition, I know that suggesting restaurants can be a completely subjective matter.......

Regardless, I have outlined a few below that would definitely fit your criteria above.

Kittichai 60 Thompson St. 212-219-2000 Thai
Lure Fishbar 142 Mercer St. 212-431-7676 Seafood
Mercer Kitchen 99 Prince St. 212-966-5454 American (New), French
Balthazar 80 Spring St. 212-965-1414 French (Brasserie)

As always, you can always use the Zagat Survey link below to find more in depth descriptions of each.

Enjoy!
