Union school systems are good, have you looked into any other towns? What exactly are you looking for overall?

Barbara Ostroth answered:
It's a wonderful community for families and great commuting distance to NYC. I have raised four kids here over the past 25 years, and lived her 29 years, involved in the schools, the local arts community and in volunteer work. My kids had great recreation programs and sports options, and we have met and become friends with people from all walks of life. We have one of the best police departments in Bergen County, a paid fire department, the best volunteer ambulance corps, our own hospital (Holy Name Medical Center), a discount movie theatre, and proximity to other towns and shopping from three highways that surround us (Rt. 80, 4, and 95). I feel certain you would be very happy here!

While your price range is a little low for a 2-bedroom apartment, I can try to find some options for you. Let me help you find just the right place for you and your son.
My best,
Barbara Ostroth

Hi Trotter456,

I've lived in Marlboro my entire life. I have a 9-yr old boy myself. So I know where you're coming from.

As for commuting, to be sure, I would suggest you use the NJ Turnpike/Parkway Authority Toll Calculator which can be found at http://www.state.nj.us/turnpike/toll-rates.html

As for homes in Marlboro, there are definitely a few good homes out there in around the range you are looking. Give me a call or shoot me an email @ ajfreehold@aol.com; and I'd be happy to send them to you to review. You can also search the entire MLS through my IDX site at: www.anthonyjankowski.kwrealty.com

Happy Househunting,

Francesca Patrizio answered:
Trotter,

The communite via the GSP to Union from Howell during high times is what can be excpected - hgih traffic as many homewoners live in South Jersey and work 'up north". However, the Union Toll Plaza is almost always jammed so I'd add another 15 minutest to your commute, Of course this is give or take any particular day. Google maps tells me that the communute would be 56 minutes, but again I'd ad another 15 minutes give or take due to the Union toll plaza jamm.

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please do not hestitate to contact me direct @ 732.6065.2931.

Sincerely,

Francesca Patrizio, Broker Sales Associate, ePro, SRES

For school information see link; http://www.greatschools.org/ As for neighborhoods, do take the time and visit areas of interest more than once, possibly chat with locals/neighbors, check out shops, dine at a local eatery, etc., then determine what area best suits your finances, wants, needs, lifestyle. As for demographics, check out area statistics; real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods; so, you should check out demographics on your own to assure your comfort level can be reached. ... more

Jane Shebroe answered:
Not sure, but which ever moving company you choose, be sure to have them physically come to your house and give you a written estimate after seeing the contents of the house before hiring them. I have heard horror stories of moving companies that quoted one price on the phone, and then demanded 5 to 10 times the amount after delivery, while threatening to hold their furniture on the truck until they were paid that amount in cash. The clients had no choice at that point, while their belongings were virtually being held for ransom.
By physically coming to the house, they cannot say that they didn't know what it would be.

Maky,
It should take you about 1/2 hour. Anywhere close to I-78 exit 33 or near I-287 exit 20 would be the closest.
Please let me know if you are looking for condo, townhome or a house in Basking Ridge. I will be happy to help you find it.

Jeanne Feenick answered:
Hi there, if you are doing a lot of traveling then I'd recommend you choose a community that makes highways and airports accessible. You'll enjoy both in the 78/287/202/206 area - proximity to major roadways and a quick shot to Newark airport. Much will depend on budget and lifestyle preferences. You'll find condos, townhomes and single family homes. You'll find urban/suburban centers with busy downtowns, smaller communities with quaint downtowns to more rural settings. I'd be happy to explore your options in my area which covers several counties.

Send me an email with additional clarification on type of home you are thinking of and your best estimate of budget and I can get more specfic with ideas. I'll also send along community sites which are a great way to begin to get a feel for areas. Much can be accomplished over the airwaves so that when we hit the ground we make the best use of your time.

Best,
Jeanne Feenick

Well as a Realtor at the Jersey Shore, I would have to say there are several areas it all depends on what you are looking for & how much do you want to spend. For instance Pt. Pleasant Beach is directly in the vicinity of the train. If you want email me the specifics of want you want, how many bedrooms, baths, garage, & how much to spend - along with your email address & I can email you some listings to get you started at least.
