The answer to that question is one that you will have to decide on. The best way to make that decision for yourself is to sit down with a real estate agent, go over your wants and needs in a home, and then let that agent show you some homes in different areas that match what you are looking for. You can then determine which area is best for you. We also can direct you in the place to go to be able to view statistics on schools, population, and crime rates. I think when you combine all of these things, then you will make the best decision for your family! ... more

It's basically true, but its not a straight line with Hwy 17. For people who really desire a home on the beach, its just another cost they are willing to pay for the ocean views and lifestyle.

Hi Chris,

You need to be more specific as to what you want and need. Price range would be a good start (everyone has their own definition of "affordable").

Are you retired or need employment? Do you have a car or need public transportation?

Do you want a house with a yard to maintain? A condo? Townhouse so you don't need to spend time on exterior maintenance? A manufactured home with some acreage?

If you can narrow down your criteria, I'm sure we can give you some great suggestions!

The cost of living is cheaper in South Carolina compared to the North East. Taxes, heating costs, etc. are lower here. Owning a manufactured home on a leased lot is not the most economical thing. Usually lot rent is high and you would not have the option of a permenant foundation which is more stable. ... more

I would just like to say that it is a fantastic time to buy! Some great deals are currently being made on golf course properties in the Myrtle Beach Reals estate market.

There is going to be difference in the level of success you will receive, when choosing a Realtor you will work with in showing you properties and what are the best deals.

Would you entrust a surgeon with your life that has had 11 successful surgeries and still practices with equipment and knowledge from the 1960’s? If you where on trial for murder, would you consult a lawyer who has been in court twice and refers to the books he used in collage for examples? Of course not! But when choosing a Myrtle Beach Realtor, you want the best in the industry.

Knowledge matters! We don’t focus on outcome. Instead, The Jerry Pinkas Team’s primary focus is on the process that gets you there. In the same way that great athletes stay in the moment rather than obsessing about the outcome of the game, great companies keep their collective nose to the grindstone, zoom focusing on the day-to-day tasks that made them great in the first place. We focus on our purpose and process, and this fuels our growth.

It is all realative you what you are looking for.

Today it's all about the negotiating a great deal. All you need is finding that motivated seller. The deal of the century happens about once a week!

The lure of the beach & ocean is not going away! What is on the cover of ever retirement brochure?.....The Beach.... and the baby boomers just starting to retire.

We currently have a window of opportunity. I don't know how long it is going to last. Most people realize a good value when they see it. Recently some of the low lying fruit on the tree (low priced properties) have been picked the last 3 weeks. We have had a lot more condo sales activity in the last 3 weeks.

If you are interested in making an investment, We'll be glad to assist you with your plans. We will be glad to give you a ton of information.

Knowledge matters! Skill level matters! Talent matters! The art is in putting all the ingredients together. To be the best and maintain being the best, takes action every day. The Jerry Pinkas Team’s primary focus is on the process that gets you there.

Ask someone who bought back in the 1960's 1970's or 1980's. I just haven't heard any one that was a long term investor, say they wish they hadn't bought that beach property. I usually hear I should have bought one years ago. Want an investment with dividends like fun, rest and relaxation? There is no better time than now!

Hello. When I was looking to relocate my family to Myrtle Beach, which includes 3 small children, I had asked the same questions. I found that the Carolina Forest School District had the best report card. Since I purchased (over 5 years ago) that district has added a new elementary school, a new middle school, a fine arts building and also increased the size of the high school. The following link will help you determine this for yourself http://www.horrycountyschools.net/ . As far as "safe", the Carolina Forest area is filled with families who live in the many communities throughout. The following link will offer some insite on the area: http://www.myhomeinmyrtlebeach.com/HomesAuthenticated.aspx?tabid=2106742 . I hope this will help with your search and if I can help you in anyway, please feel free to contact me any time. Good Luck!!! ... more
