First of all, in anticipation, welcome to beautiful Maine! As a former elementary schoolteacher in southern Maine for 12 years, I can assure you that school districts here have a lot to offer in terms of academics and extracurricular programs. And our spring housing market is flourishing. It would be my pleasure to chat with you, answer your questions and offer professional guidance. Linda M. Snyder, M.S. answered:
Are you planning to move to Kittery from Philadelphia?

The answer to your question is of course, some are and some are not. There's no way to know until you do the legwork, or work with a property manager who will do the legwork for you.

My husband has a property management company and runs into the question of pets with almost every potential tenant he talks to. There's no single answer, and even the same property may say yes to some pets and no to others.

(John's company does not travel as far south as Kittery, so he wouldn't be of much help in your situation.)

hi - House rentals are very tight right now - and it is even more difficult to find one that allows dogs. Have you considered trying to buy? I know it is a hassle to try and relocate and purchase at the same time, but you will probably pay less for a mortgage than you will for rent.

If you really want to rent first, I suggest you contact a property management company to see what they might have available. Vanguard Property Management is one i- their website is http://www.vpmmaine.com/

they have a few homes available for rent - give them a call and see what they can do for you!
