Be very, very, very careful in Texas. Texas has certain laws that make lease-options very tricky. In the other 49 states, there's little or no problem. Texas, unfortunately, is different.

There are ways to accomplish the same end result. But make absolutely sure you're dealing with a Realtor who knows and understands the applicable regulations.
