It's close, about 4 miles, I think. Traffic is never great on game day. On non-game days, it will take you about 15 to 20 minutes to get there. On game days, I'd allow about 35 to 40 minutes. ... more

Dining in Manhattan Beach has seen some big changes in the last 10 years. We have many choices from beach casual to fine dining. Some fun places to go are Grunions on Saturday night for their $14 prime rib special. This is a great local spot. In downtown Manhattan Beach Mama D's on Manhattan Ave is a place that is kid friendly with lots of pasta dishes to choose from. Rocking Fish is another fun casual restaurant where you can get a great meal in a friendly place. Beaches, at the corner, has the best view in town overlooking the Pier at Ocean Avenue. Across the street is Mangiamos a truly fabulous upscale Italian restaurant. Think something special in Naples and you have the idea. Take a turn east and there is Café Pierre.. This is a French Bistro the French would love. One of our newest restaurants is Petros a terrific Greek restaurant in the Metlox Center. Indoor and patio dining plus incredible food make this a wonderful addition to our city. Looking for breakfast.. don't miss Uncle Bills and the Koffee Kart.. you may have to wait a bit but you will be glad you did. Looking for a quick bite then the Kettle is the place.. a 24 hour café where you can grab some eggs early before 6:00 am or some coffee and desert after a night at the Civic Light Opera. ... more

The social scene in Los Angeles is as varied as the population. Whatever you're looking for, you're going to find. Salsa dancing is huge here at places like the Mayan downtown as is the classic Hollywood scene up on Sunset Blvd at clubs like Hyde and the Skybar. It's Hollywood so you're going to find lots of beautiful people out looking to be seen. There is a great artist culture here, so there are always fabulous concerts at large venues such as the Staples Center and the Hollywood Bowl, and also smaller arenas such as the Paladium, The Whiskey and the Wiltern Theater. All the biggest acts come through Los Angeles and one thing is for sure: you will never be bored here! If you're more low-key, there are always 1000 incredible restaurants to try. It's hard to pick a favorite and return to it as there are so many new ones to explore! Every kind of food is perfected in one of them and although it's a glamourous city, people tend to wear jeans almost everywhere. Southern California is known for its laid back yet elegant style--no tuxedos or cocktail dresses necessary! ... more

This city is home to a variety of age groups and is truly open to all. Many generations live within this city. Some are the original residents from when the city was founded 50 years ago. This town has fantastic 4th of July parties and is one of the only cities within all of Los Angeles county that allows legal fireworks on the 4th of July. This is a big hit with those whom enjoy fireworks. ... more
