Laura,

Yes, Artcraft Manor is a nice neighborhood, however, you and your friend should always use caution when you come home late at night, wherever you are! What I think you may want to be cautious about is the asking rent of $1,300. A house this size in this type of neighborhood would normally rent in the range of $2,200 - $2,500 a month, so be careful. Make sure there is either a property manager or owner who answers their phone and is able to get you inside the house. DO NOT wire anyone any money! Otherwise, this may be a scam, there are a lot out there at the moment.
Good luck in your search.

Hi Betty,
I would encourage you to look up crime statistics in the neighborhood or call the Long Beach police department to get more information on the area you are considering.

There are other charming areas in Long Beach near Carroll Park and Rose Park, and the prices are definitely much higher than in North Long Beach.
Another area with cute homes (but not as old and historic) is Lakewood.

I'd be happy to assist you in finding a home. Let me know if I can assist.

Thanks,

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Hi Min,

http://www.crimereports.com/# will give you up to date accounts of crime in various areas. Just type in the specific address and it will give you everything from burglaries and assaults to registered offenders.

I suggest you drive by nearby neighborhoods at different times of days, during the week and on weekends. Write down what you like and don't like about the area taking into account crime and safety information you learn from http://www.crimereports.com/# .

Also you should speak to your REALTOR or agent about your concerns.

Hope this has been helpful!

Dear Hodad924,
My suggestion would be Park Estates. There are several apartment buildings there on Anaheim. You can walk or ride your bike to school, and you have easy access to the beach, Second Street, shopping and the freeways to get around Southern California. My wife and I live close to Park Estates, and we love the area. If you are not currently living in Long Beach, and need more info on exactly where Park Estates is, send me an email or give me a call.

Best of luck,

Hi There,

There are many condos currently available in Lon Beach with 2t least 2 bedrooms within the price range of $150,000 - $175,000. As far as the crime statistics, you would need to check with the local police department for the crime statistics in the area. The Long Beach Police website can be found here:

http://www.longbeach.gov/police/

Please email me if you are interested in receiving any information on the available condos in Long Beach. My email address is john.barry@coldwellbanker.com.

Thanks, have a good night!

Hi Steve,

I specialize in wonderful Long Beach! I would avoid north Long Beach & the West Side.

There are many fabulous condos in Long Beach. Many are found downtown, in Belmont Shores, Bixby Knolls, the Virginia Country Club, and in East Long Beach.

Best of luck,

Karen Miller
