Hi Allison! I do not believe this subdivision is located in a flood plain and each indvidual property for sale would have to disclose this if so. If you have questions about this property in specific, or any others, email or call me directly at or 704-458-1843

I'd love to help you with your move!

At the moment I don't see any property being offered as rent to own. That doesn't mean that the possibility of making those arrangements does not exist. it takes a bit of extra effort/research to find owners who may be interested in such an arrangement.

I would be happy to discuss your situation and work toward helping you with a solution.

You are about 5 minutes to Walmart and less than 10 minutes to other major, petsmart, best buy, etc. There is a hospital in Monroe and in Matthews about 15 minutes to each. Call or email me and let's go take a look at this home.

Hey Mamamia!
Congratulations on your decision to relocate, I welcome you to the area!

Waxhaw and Indian Trail are excellent choices to live. A few positive notes for both is that they both boast good schools. The homes in those areas tend to come with a decent size lot as well. You also get more home for the money being further from the city.

If you like the one stop light towns, I'd recommend Waxhaw. It is rapidly growing and becoming more desirable, which would be good for future value.

If you are not currently working with a REALTOR, I would love to help you with your relocation!

If you're looking for a beautiful NC local with a real small town feel, check out the Sandhills of NC. Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and surrounding areas. The careful preservation of our beautful landscapes and golf heritage and history has kept our area from having big city problems, while having all of the modern conveniences. Our student to teacher ratio is one of the smallest in the state. And because of the quality of life we've drawn some of the best professionals anywhere in the world. You're only 2-3 hours from the beach and 4 hours from the mountains. Numerous parks, golf courses, and historical landmarks dot the landscape. Great private restaurants and shopping options as well. ... more

Don Tepper answered:
It would be possible, but difficult.

One correction: Your poor credit is not a result of the housing crash in south Florida. Your poor credit is likely the result of your not making payments that you had agreed to make. I'm not trying to be difficult or picky, but it's important to recognize what the real cause of an issue is. That's especially the case since you note that you and your wife have been working for the same employer for over 10 years, so the issue isn't one of job loss. People control their own destinies.

Your best bet is to find an individual who wants to rent a property (as opposed to an apartment complex). Recognize that your credit will still be an issue, and you'll have to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the landlord that you'll be able to make your monthly rental payments as agreed upon. You may also be asked for a larger-than-normal security deposit to help offset the risk.

Good luck.

These are all nice neighborhoods. One thing to know about Lake Park is that although it's residents have an Indian Trail zip code, Lake Park is an incorporated town with a number of distinct neighborhoods and a town center. The others are specific neighborhoods.

Please visit to learn more about Lake Park and Indian Trail. My blog at www.CarolinasRealEstateTalk.Info also has a lot of information about specific neighborhoods within Indian Trail.

Let me know if you would like additional assistance in your neighborhood/home search.

I highly recommend you call Michelle Graves with Keller Williams Realty in Indian Trail. She knows the area well and can help you find a good rent to own or lease / option home in the area. Her number is (704) 507-6781. Tell her Ed Nailor recommended her to you.
If you would like to get pre-approved or consult on your credit, I'd be happy to help with that as well.
Good luck.
