Could be. I would be very weary. I know of landlords living in other countries, but typically they have an agent handle the rental or a property management company in place.

Keep on knocking on doors and work with a Realtor who can assist you. A landlord and/or Realtor cannot deny you based solely on the Sec 8 Voucher.

The rental market is tight at this time due to the fact that homes are selling quite well in Western Springs. At the present time there are 2 vintage studio condos listed for rent on the MLS at 750 and 950. Neighboring La Grange is similar - 2 small condos and 2 small ranch homes. This, of course, will vary from day to day, week to week, so speak to a Realtor to have a search set up for you. Beware of Craig's List. There are many scams. In general, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. ... more

If you are interested in having a search set up for the latest properties available within my multiple listing service, please let me know of your minimum requirements, such as minimum # of baths, # car garage, and basement requirements you may have. For a rental a bankruptcy will hurt, but there are a lot of ways to combat that. Your income is excellent and if your credit has improved that says volumes.

Job opportunities are the most important, but a lot of times time in the job is a factor in qualification. If you can wait, sometimes it is better, but if job is better move and same industry, sometimes not a big deal.

I would be happy to help you. I have helped people with bankruptcies before. It just depends on what the landlord is looking for, but there are ways to help. I would be happy to discuss with you.

Please feel free to contact me.
