Hello Tracy,

Being a native of East Norwalk, personally I feel that it's thebest part of Norwalk. You can walk/bike to everything and it is like a community unto itself. Yes, everyone here is friendly....we live in a beach community...we're happy!

Anyway, no, you cannot choose the schools the public schools. It's all based on where you live. The schools that your children would attend in the East Norwalk area are Marvin Elementary, Nathan Hale Middle and Norwalk High School. There is also All Saints which is catholic school (tuition) grades K thru 8.

As far as ascension beach club, it is owned by the same family as Cove Marina, the Gardella family. You can call (203)838-1002 for the costs. I know they are very reasonable and a well run beach club.

Good luck. If you decide to look for real estate in the Norwalk area, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Kind regards,
Linda Cappello

the answer partly depends on the neighborhood you are looking in and the type of person you are. in some areas you won't have much choice. where you have a choice septic might not be desirable as it takes care. it needs emptying at one time or another as an example. pubic sewer only requires you to pay for them!
well water in some areas might not be an asset but for those who don't like the fact that the public water system has addiitives and requires you to pay them for the water you might like your own well. we actually have well water and in our area we have a very high mineral content which means we've got 3 filters just so i feel i can drink it without a metal taste. the pressure is not much different but if the pump ever needs fixing or if we get a problem with the well it could be expensive to fix. for now it's nice not to have a water bill!

There are many ways to answer this question. The first thing you need to think about is what is in the budget. There are great family neighborhoods in all areas of Fairfield and Westport. They all vary in price, so based on your budget and the many criteria you may have in a home, location, distance to schools, and the Towns all play a factor in where you may want to live. I would be happy to send you some information on the two areas. You can see what you can get by going to my website and signing in for a free listingbook account. Crime you can visit police website.

When we have had clients confused between two communities we recommended for family go hang out in that local area, parks, pretend they live there over weekend, shop in stores, dine, speak with residence of city, tour schools, WOW sometimes city thought they loved decided was not match for their personal or professional lifestyle.

Compare the schools ratings by contacing ISD.

Place all on excel spread sheet pros and cons look at global picture.

Map out your short and long term goals for living in that community. What is growth of community.

Life in CT is whatever you make of it. I have a FSBO in Enfield and I can tell you this town is very well off. It does a lot for its people. Great location too. It is approx 10 minutes north of Hartford CT and 10 minutes south of Springfield MA. Depending on your profession living in this town gives you the convenience as far as Hartford has many many jobs and so doesn't Springfield. Hartford is know as "the insurance capitol of the world" When you go south of Hartford you do have some rough towns and rough areas. Enfield has little to no crime. Where as some towns are known for its crime. So, a lot depends on where you are. Some times here are very ritzy - even have stars living here but sometimes the ritzy towns draw crime because of the money. I am partial to Enfield. Write me at for more info ... more

Hi Linda,

The Stamford Hospital has applied to demolish 12 properties on Finney Lane, Spruce Street and Alden Street. This is part of their expansion plans. They have been purchasing surrounding homes for a while now, over 30 homes so far. They have not yet confirmed how they'll use the land, but only that it's part of their expansion plans.

A long term (1 yr or more) beach front rental can be hard to come by in Westport with 2BR under $3,000. Most homeowners will rent the properties for a rent like that for the winter (day after Labor Day until Memorial Day or sometimes through June) and then rent it for the summer at a much higher rate. There is one very nice condo walking distance to the beach that's currently available under $3,000 in Westport. You may have better luck finding something in Fairfield although right now there aren't any properties matching your criteria available. I'm happy to send you more information if you want to contact me directly (just click on my profile). ... more
