Hi Mark,

Generally Realtor's don't use the term "good location". That could be construed as steering which is illegal. I can tell you there are two others houses for sale on the street with the highest listed at $900,000.
If you don't know the area, Google map it and look at the street and satellite views - this is always a good place to start.

The school info is found at this link: Here you will find information and district maps or a search by street option.

Clients I've place in the town love it! So by all means contact your friend and ask about the town, schools etc. With house you are looking at, be aware that it is bank-owned and from the photographs looks like it will need some TLC - note the kitchen ceiling.

If I can be of help in any way please let me know.

Hi E Harris,

It isn't too early to start looking online to see what type of place you can get with your budget (size, location, updates, etc.).

Yes it is too early to physically start looking at places as the inventory will be completely different once you are ready to move in January. Places with similar updates will be available for similar prices, but the exact addresses and units will be different.

Basically it is a good idea to educate yourself now on what you can likley afford, and then get out to look a places about 30 days or less before your desired lease start date.

Laura Feghali answered:
Hello Helen,
First you want to check with the home owner's association to determine whether or not you can rent out your unit as some complexes have restrictions on this issue.

Also, you probably received a lower interest rate on your refinance due to it being owner occupied. I suggest that you contact your lender to inquire what additional fees may apply and what the change in the interest rate may be if you decide to turn it into an investment property.

Good luck to you!

Hello Sharmaakshit,
It is always wise if you will be financing your home purchase to have a mortgage approval contingency included to protect yourself. A lender will not approve a mortgage if the home does not appraise at or above the selling price. So yes, you should include an appraisal contingency in your offer. It can be written into the contract if it is not already included.

Good luck to you!

Hi Annette -
Yep, the property is a private home next to commercial properties. If you want, simply look it up on the town tax disclosure website. If you'd like to have a look, just let me know.

Dear Erica,
After receiving your question, I had performed some research for you,and without seeing your home the answer to your question is; you looking at anything between $4000-$4800 per month to rent out your home. Of course to get exact value , you'll need to have a Realtor see your home in person. Please give me a call or send me an email if you would like to setup an appointment for a comparable market analysis.

If you are looking for an area with fairly reasonable slips and nice house, please let us help you. For information on crime, I would suggest contacting the local police department to get a sense of problems in the last couple of years. There are web sites that can be quite alarmist.

Hello Tracy,

Being a native of East Norwalk, personally I feel that it's thebest part of Norwalk. You can walk/bike to everything and it is like a community unto itself. Yes, everyone here is friendly....we live in a beach community...we're happy!

Anyway, no, you cannot choose the schools the public schools. It's all based on where you live. The schools that your children would attend in the East Norwalk area are Marvin Elementary, Nathan Hale Middle and Norwalk High School. There is also All Saints which is catholic school (tuition) grades K thru 8.

As far as ascension beach club, it is owned by the same family as Cove Marina, the Gardella family. You can call (203)838-1002 for the costs. I know they are very reasonable and a well run beach club.

Good luck. If you decide to look for real estate in the Norwalk area, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

Kind regards,
Linda Cappello

I would go online and see which elementary school or schools seem to have the highest scores or most favorable reviews. I would also call each particular school in town and ask some questions. Once you decide on which areas you think are best, I would contact local Realtor that could send properties that fix your needs.Depending on your price range and needs, rental homes might not be available. The rental has been very busy for the last couple of years. Best of luck,

Aravind, Ask your agent to provide you the history of sold properties in peak period in those area where you are looking the houses with master bedroom on 1st floor ( they can check only with the mas on 1st floor). If you find that those were like the other houses ( master bedroom on 2nd floor) then you are fine. Having master bed on first floor is good for the people with in-laws or comfortness of the people if someone dont want to go up and down for the bedrooms or if someone having problem in knees, walking prefer to 1st level master bedroom. Lot of Asian prefare having the mas bed on first floor because of their parents living with them.
I hope it will help you to make decision!

Hi Benefactor -
I can see one else rendered some help here, so....... put candidly, you've got to call an attorney to determine if you have a case; unfortunately, there really is no other way. There are many qualified attorney's in Darien and in the neighboring towns; simply call one or more to determine a preference and be prepared with all the necessary documentation of your transaction. Below are a couple of firms I have used many times and recommend to my clients:
