I am a Realtor in Denton. I'd say buying is your best bet. From what I've seen most lease options or rent to own do not give the buyer a good deal. If you can qualify for a loan you will be set up better. That being said there are some owner financed homes avaialble. Most will want 10%-20% down and give higher interest rates than the banks. If you want more specifics feel free to contact me. ... more

It depends! Are you going to use it as a primary residence and then eventually maybe rent it out or are you going into this strictly from an investment standpoint? It's also best to look at the rental in the neighborhood and even in that phase...there are many variables. Lets have a conversation about it....Stacy 972-369-6610 for text ... more

In most circumstances you will just need your passport or identification.
Occasionally a title company where we do the closing may ask to see some kind of US government issued identification like a driver's license, but not all.

I think you need this answered by a local attorney familiar with Texas law and with whom you can discuss your case. There may be too much not mentioned here for one of us to properly answer your questions - and it would be more properly addressed by an attorney anyhow. ... more

Unless Realtor was representating you in this transaction no one can render an opinion due to misleading statements and etc. OF not knowing enough about the facts.

Why never purchase a property unless you have a Realtor representating you

That is a question for a mortgage professional not a REALTOR.
If you would like a professional's answer, give Robert Tokarczyk with Fairway Mortgage a call. He is a seasoned mortgage loan officer in business since 1992. I refer clients to Robert each and every opportunity. Stellar results!

It could be a scam, proceed with high caution--to verify ownership check local public records, ask a neighbor(s), ask any local agent offline, check tax records, etc.

There are a few clarifications that would assist me in answering your question.

1) How far is "short distance" to you? 10 mintues? 10 Miles?
2) What is your price range?

I have always loved houses that are near Lake Lewisville. If you travel down University, it is only about 6 miles. If you go down McKinney Street, it cuts a little off of that. If you are looking for a home with a view and way from students, this would probably be a good option.

You also have areas such as around South Lakes Park that have good views and are close to shopping and restaurants and great access to 35.

If you are able to be further out than this, Highland Village is always a popular area but is about 15 miles out of Denton.

If you would like some more specific information, I would love to talk to you. Feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email.
