You need to connect with a reputable contractor. If you don't have a friend who is a general contractor, you may need to pay this person for their time. Find a home you like, and have this person come with you to take a look before you make an offer. Sometimes, GC's will work with you if they know they will get the job.
If you have a good buyer's agent, s/he should be able to help you locate a general contractor (GC)

Visit with any qualified loan officer first and see exactly what your budget can handle and check your credit score--if you don't sell first can you carry the expenses for both properties and if so for how long-- if you need the proceeds from the sale of your current home, for the next, you really need to list as soon as a decision to move, or not is made. Your loan officer will best advise you based on your personal finances. ... more

Thats q question that is very difficult to answer and really depends on the persons commute and what an individual looks for in a community. I love Concord wit the beautiful town center etc.. Both town are so close in pricing that usually if someone looks at Concord they look at Lexington as well. In that case people usually decide based on house choice. Both towns have great school systems as well. ... more

Both locations are convenient to shops, and each has a train station. West Concord is generally less expensive and more priactical. Concord center is beautiful, historic, touristy, and has more shopping, and is where town parades, etc. are held. It would also depend on what type of home you are looking for: condo, single family, size. If you have any specific questions, I'll try to answer them. I love Concord- yesterday we walked part of the Battle Road, and today we're having brunch at the Colonal Inn in Concord Center.

Not sure which Elm Street property you are talking about as there are a couple (including condos):

is it this single family:
or one of these condo townhouses:

Both look great, although the condo townhouses have been on the market for over 200 days which could be for various reasons (over priced, soft townhouse market in concord, etc).

Either way, to answer your question, yes, any agent can help you. I strongly recommend you hire an exclusive buyers agent, not the agent representing the seller or builder as they have a legal duty to protect the seller in all transactions and therefore can only offer you limited service/advice.

Good luck!

Concord would be considered a more desirable community in my opinion. I would rank them (1) Concord, (2) Natick and (3) Waltham. You may get conflicting opinions. but as an appraiser and a real estate agent, I am considering property values, schools, amenities, etc... But it all depends on what you're looking for. If I won the lottery and had to pick one of these three towns to settle down in, I'm moving to Concord. Let's see what others say.... ... more
