Columbia City is an evolving community. Columbia City is both old & new. Columbia City has the prettiest of the city's four Carnegie libraries. Columbia City has managed to preserve it's historic character, yet new development is happening all around. Columbia City is appealing, human-scale, and walkable. Columbia City feels a bit like a small town, in the midst of a growing city. Columbia City has a great farmer's market and a neighborhood cinema. Columbia City has a marvelous bakery and one of the oldest butcher shops in the city. Columbia City has a light rail station, a community center, and several of Seattle's best parks are within walking distance. The New York Times said tourists should make Columbia City a 'must see' when visiting Seattle. ... more

If you are asking about the city of Columbia, SC...we do have public transportation. All the typical city buses, taxies, Amtrak, but we do not have a subway. There are a multitude of great cinemas scattered all over Columbia and the surrounding areas. We also have most of the best know grocery chains like Publics, Food Lion, Kroger, Bi-lo, and even Piggly Wiggly, which is a big chain in the South. Fine dining is certainly available all over the Columbia area as well. Coldwell Banker United has a website that is a good place to get some of the information you are looking for. Take a look at www.myschome.com and go to the "area links" section. It has a lot of information about the local attractions and entertainment.
