Good evening.
Charlotte winters are short and generally cool, beginning in December as daytime temperatures fall steadily with Dec-Mar averages ranging 41 to 51°F. Charlotte is protected by the Appalachian Mountains on the western end of the state and cold fronts from Canada and the Gulf of Mexico rarely make it past these tall mountains. On nights during Charlotte's winter months, residents can experience periods of frosty weather and infrequent snow flurries of a few inches which rarely settle, melting within a few days. While the annual average snowfall is 5.5 inches, somewhat more frequent are ice storms and sleet mixed in with rain - "wintery mix" as the news terms it.

The average annual daytime temperatures in Charlotte are around 71°F (21°C). Charlotte's mild climate (Köppen subtropical climate Cfa) has four distinct seasons and is characterized by mild winters, balmy summer evenings and long periods of sunny weather with about 40 inches of rainfall spread fairly evenly throughout the year. It is a great place to live - mild winters and not as humid as Florida. If you appreciate an answer, please give thumbs up. For the most helpful answer, please say thanks with a best answer click.

Sagileo,

As a Realtor we are not allowed to give opinions on schools or steer people one way or the other toward any specific school or away from any area. federal housing laws prohibit this from happening.

What I can do is recommend some various websites to help you in your search based on schools that will give you information about the schools. Two sites I use are www.ncreportcard.org and www.greatschools.org both sites provide information about individual schools. I like the nc report card site becuase it shows how the schools compare to otehrs in the district and the state.

great schools give opinions based on parents and students feedback of a particular school.....

Once you think you have found a school you wanr your children go to then i would have a Realtor research for you homes in that area..we cannto steer you to or from a school but we can hone our search down to a specific school and look for homes in that school boundaries only.

I think Charlotte is a great place... and it IS a lot EASIER life. I grew up outside of DC in Ft. Meade /Columbia area. And although I love Maryland, living in Charlotte is just a lot easier. It's hard to beileve but just going to the grocery store, and the shopping center is easier. The housing is a lot cheaper... as much as 35% less for a normal house... probably more for a better house. I have clients that had to leave Charlotte for DC and they went from a 2500 square foot house in the best school district to a tiny townhouse for $500 more a month and they felt lucky to find it.

I think you should make a trip down and take a look around. Spend 3 or 4 days and look at what you can afford. Of course finding a job might be harder than in DC but Living... is way easier.

Good afternoon, Trulia Administrators:
As you probably know, Familial Status is a protected class - Per the below link on HUD website, it is illegal to "advertise or make any statement that indicates a limitation or preference based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap".

For buyers who are interested in living near a park, we would decide about the ideal park size and features, then talk about household size, determine how many bedrooms and square footage that buyer requires and what price, location and home features are preferred. We'd then find all the houses that meet that criteria.

Every individual has specific needs and unique personal desires in owning real estate. We work with each Buyer to listen carefully and then find exactly the right home and negotiate terms of purchase to meet their financial needs. If you appreciate an answer, please give thumbs up. Kids are assigned to schools. They are called "Neighborhood" schools. There are also magnets which slots are done by a lottery system. These are full and it is hard to get a slot. I don't think you will have much choice in the school you are assigned to teach at. They might give you two options... but certainly no more than that. All the teachers I know were just given a place... take it or leave it. It could be across town... so you are probably better off getting the job and then determining where you want to live. ... more
