The nearest grocery store would be either the little market in Alta Sierra at the corner of Alta Sierra Dr. and Hwy 49 or if you go into town there is Raleys and SPD at Mc Knight Way which are all about 15 minutes awasy. Same with banks and restaurants. The hospital is Sierra Nevada Memorial which is a little further. . Of course from this location you could also head down to Auburn and you would have all the faciities there as well it is a little further.
We have quite a few grocery stores throughout the county and many great restaurants. We have a great hospital and many fine doctors. I think you will find everything you need pretty close by.

Well, isn't that nice of you to share with your family. All you have to do is take a day and bus around or street car up and down the city and you can see for yourself. The street car will get you to some primo views of the bay, you'll have to walk a bit taking the buses, and don't forget its just not the bay and ocean that give SF its flavor. Don't forget your transfer for proof of payment and you can ride around for 4 or 5 hours for a couple of dollars. Try the hills for the views tourist like the most. Go to the Golden Gate Bridge. Walk along the Embarcadero. Go to the Barbary Coast and North Beach. Get a map and enjoy yourself. Plan your trip using Muni plan a trip. ... more

Here are the utility company telephone numbers....but in Carmel, the tricky thing is to figure out the ADDRESS the utility company is using for your property, since we don't have standard street addresses in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Each utility company uses its own designation for the property, so be aware of this.

Two suggestions are:

-- ask the previous occupant for a copy of their utility bill (for each utility), so that you can help the utility company track the location by using the former occupant's account number


-- go outside and copy down your meter number (for electric or water) so that you have it to give the utility company when you get them on the phone

South Escondido, my primary area of expertise, has Vons, Major Market, Sprouts, & Jimbo's all within a .5 mile radius of each other just off Center City Parkway.
