There are flood maps online but quite frankly, I have yet to find anyone who could read them..The best one to check with is your insurance agent. But when you put a contract on a home, if it is in a flood area or ever been flooded, the seller is obligated to reveal that in a sellers' disclosure. (if it is listed w/a realtor)..If you are buying "a for sale by owner" the seller may not...

Some of the local TV stations have "crime stats" on their websites but i believe it is sexual offenders only
