Hello Timo,

The Oaks of Boca Raton is a luxury, gated community in West Boca Raton. This beautiful resort inspired community features well crafted Mediterranean inspired homes that range in size from 3,000 to over 7,000 square feet. The Oaks of Boca Raton is located at 9554 Clint Moore Road, between the Florida's Turnpike and Highway 441 in Boca Raton, Florida. Real estate for sale in The Oaks of Boca Raton ranges from $700,000 to over $3,000,000.

Built in 1990's, The Preserve’s 102 homes ranges from $800,000 to over $1.2 million and residences range in size from 3,500 square feet to just over 5,000 square feet. Residents in The Preserve enjoy the service of a 24 hour manned gate on Yamato Road in addition to the unmanned gate used by residents only on Military Trail. Mediterranean details and designer touches are found around every corner of these luxurious estate homes. The Preserve is located in an A-rated school district featuring Calusa Elementary School, Onmi Middle School, and Spanish River High School. There are also superb private schools nearby including Pine Crest Preparatory School, American Heritage, St. Andrew’s School, Donna Klein Jewish Academy, Spanish River Christian, Pop John Paul II High School, and the Morikami Charter School.

The best bet would be to see the communities for yourself , once you drive through and see the homes
yoi would have already made up your mind as to which one you would like to live in.

Let me know if I can help,

1. Get a house sitter for when you are away. Most communities have a resident in that business. They can let in a pest inspector, check things for you (give them a list including checking all ceilings for leaks or signs of mold, including garage), and take care of any deliveries.

2. Is there a nearby airline that flies direct to the city that your main home is in, or to the nearest airport? Check out PBI, FLL, MIA.

3. Check with your pool company. I doubt that you should drain the pool, but they will know and advise you .
4. You may want to leave on the a/c.

Technology provides air condition, pest sprays, and just about anything conceivable to deal with tropical conditions. When you buy a house, you get an inspector (I can recommend one) and he sees if everything is okay - plumbing, electrical work, roof, is there mold, etc. Re types of flooring, many people use tile, carpeting or wood. My preference is all tile because it is non-allergenic and easy to clean. The warm, tropical climate is one of the biggest draws to move here as opposed to tough winters up north.
