Is this a small building or house? This seems unreasonably high. Perhaps I missed something.

If you want to buy the house, make an offer.

It would be best to contact a Realtor in the area to assist you. Or contact a real estate lawyer.

Hope that helps.

I assume your talking about 21-05 33rd St. Astoria. It's a co-op. It's a foreclosure so all liens should be paid. They are asking $149,900 with monthly maintenance of $529.89. Your lawyer would be the one to do due diligence on the co-op to find out it's financial stability etc.. The co-op is 3E and has one bedroom & one bathroom. It was originally listed at $189,900 on 04/29/12 then lowered to $164,900 and now at $149,900. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information or to arrange a viewing.

Hi there,

I am assuming it's right around here:

http://www.trulia.com/property/3063379579-3533-31st-St-Queens-NY-11106

If you scroll down on the listing and click on the tab that says crime, you will see it isn't a super safe neighborhood. There are some violent crimes.

Please recommend that she is extra safe and cautious and let me know if I can help with anything else.

Cheers,
Ali, Community Manager

Keep in mind that opinions are often subjective, and what may be good for one may not necessarily be the case for another--unfortunately, real estate professionals are prohibited from “steering”—enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods/complexes, etc.,; so, you should check out demographics on your own to assure your comfort level can be reached. ... more

It's not uncommon for mortgage brokers to charge an application fee. You can ask around to different lenders and see what they charge. If you are working with a real estate agent, ask him/her if they have anyone they recommend. Sometimes the lender will wave the fee if the buyer is a referral from an agent. ... more

It's true that financing is very difficult on condos.

If you are not familiar with the area, visit the neighborhood more than once and at different times of day--look at everything that is of importance to you--look at shops, dine at a local eatery, talk to locals, etc.--as far as safety is concerned-- your best source of information is the local police department--why not call/visit, ask all your questions and hear all there is to hear firsthand--then make a determination--will your level of comfort be reached. ... more
