I would suggest you check out the northwest side of Tucson. Marana is easy access to !-10 on and off to downtown Tucson or a short trip up to Pheonix. New homes being built rapidly. Plenty of biking ,hiking and golf. Lots of shopping and medical facilities. Marana is planning a new downtown area and has just finished the plans for completion of a Heritage Park. Check it out at www.townof marana.com I would be happy to send you more information on this up and coming northwest side of Tucson. I think you will love it here.

You are over generalizing by a huge amount. Utility costs vary by house size more so than by city.

Hi Kate,
There are many wonderful neighborhoods, older, newer, and even new builds in the 85755 zip code, and the Oro Valley area. There are 2 high schools in the area, Ironwood Ridge (where my daughter is a senior), and Canyon Del Oro. I would be happy to send you the school report cards on these for you to compare. I have lived in the Oro Valley area for the last 20 years. Feel free to email me or give me a call or text at 444-1072, and I can answer any other questions that you may have.
Thanks!

Trulia thank you for asking that question. If by up and coming neighborhood you mean activity then local schools, businesses, shopping and housing markets on the increase would be a good indicator of an up and coming neighborhood. Checking with the city planning and city reports to see what businesses are looking to move into the area. What area's are slated for new development with restaurants, shopping and activities are another indicator.

When searching it's always best to look for what's important to you. What one person believes is a good indicator someone else may deem as not.

Have a great weekend and when thinking real estate in the Phoenix market, keep me in mind.

My suggestion to you would be to drive through the areas you are considering and make up your mind that way. Rolling the dice on "efforts to revitalize downtown Phoenix" would be speculating and we all know what happens when people speculate... What don't you like about downtown Phoenix? It looks pretty vital to me. ... more
