Which construction? Apartments, or roads? Regarding apartments; is it just me, or do they all look the same? Regarding the roads; the city's elected leaders don't prioritize improved mobility in Seattle. Every major road project appears to be removing lanes of travel, resulting in more congestion. It seems like nobody is concerned about the increasing gridlock, and the impact that will have on business and our future quality of life. Sad, when a city's leaders lack a vision for the future....the future 50 years from now. ... more

Seattle's older, established neighborhoods are characterized by Craftsman-era homes. Many of Seattle's neighborhoods, developed post-World War II, feature Mid-century Modern homes. There are also a number of homes that evolved a 'Northwest Contemporary" style that features the use of cedar and earth-tone colors. Seattle neighborhoods offer an architectural mix of styles and periods, and it varies widely from neighborhood to neighborhood. ... more

Put an address in I use it to see how many sex offenders, where they are and the crime stats. If you open the drop down menu it will separate violent crime from property crime. If you put in all the addresses of your options you can do your own comparisons. ... more

I wouldn't say it's more prevelant than other places. It will depend on the home, age it, condition of it and you'll want to do an inspection to assure yourself that mold doesn't exist as with any home anywhere that you decide to purchase. ... more

The train noise won't bother you too much, but the sound of the rail cars crashing together will sometimes be pretty jarring if you live right across the street. The best way to find out is spend about half an hour during the day in front of the house you're thinking of renting. One thing that I've noticed in some of the houses that are directly across from the rail yard is that if you move any picture frames, yoo'll see soot outlines on the walls. ... more

Hi Hanna,
I have pasted a link to the crime stats for you to check out. Also, I wouldn't normally describe that location as "close" to UW or Pike Place Market. It is a little difficult to say what one would consider close - I would say if it was within walking distance or maybe a five minute drive then it would be close and in this case it is neither.

Crime Stats...

Hi Anne,
Queen Anne is a wonderful neighborhood. It offers a definite sense of community and vibrant local "scene" with some highly regarded schools. There are also some great parks and playgrounds - my 3 & 4 year old boys can attest to this. It is also an area that caters to most price brackets as there is a good mix of housing types. My wife would be more than happy to chat to you and pass on her Mom's perspective on QA, so feel free to give us a call at anytime.
Kindest Regards
