Not sure what type of crime you are referring too.
However, the best way to find out is through your local paper, police station or police substation.

Hi, Your best bet would be to contact the local police dept for the most up to date crime stats. License laws prohibit agents from talking about safety and crime in an area.

My personal bets for safest neighborhoods near downtown are East Sac (especially near the McKinley Park area... but really anything east of Alhambra and north of Folsom) and River Park. You really can't go wrong in these areas.

Midtown, Land Park, and Curtis Park are also close to downtown--and all have particular sections that are considered desirable and safe. I just don't know those areas well enough to say where.

I'd avoid downtown proper. It's just fine during the workday, but it's pretty deserted evenings and weekends, and not somewhere you'd want to be hanging out by yourself.

Hi New...

Close to the Airport is the Natomas area, primarily in zip 95834... if that's where you want to live... most of the homes there were built after 2000...lots of shopping... nice schools... parks and other amenities there along with a short drive to downtown Sacramento.

We're one of the most affordable areas in California in which to live... so come on up and take a look around and don't worry, you'll find a great neighborhood to move into..

I hope this helps...

Make it a great day...

You can search for police activity and registered sex criminals. To be realistic you will find police activity and registered criminals everywhere in the world except maybe the middle or the ocean and the middle of the desert.

Oh someone just said Somali pirates and Charles Manson.... I stand corrected. No one is safe anywhere.

A little scary! I have to say, for once, I am speechless. How about turning it over to the police and putting a sign on the front of the property that says:

Welcome to Midtown Sacramento, Chris!

To find out about crime activity in any given neighborhood, you can map incidents on the Sacramento Police Department's website at

Keep in mind that Midtown is much more densely populated than surrounding areas and, thus, has a larger number of incidents given the geographic area. As a Midtown resident, I can honestly say I feel extremely safe here and consider it to be one of the most livable neighborhoods around. People are out and about all the time, which means there are always "eyes on the street"...

I hope you've been getting great information in preparation for your possible move to Sacramento!
