Hi Lisa Marie,
In order to find an old, craftsman style house, you would want to focus on the Oleander/ Westchester area. This area has awesome older homes, many of which have been remodeled and updated.
The other option is the NE section of Bakersfield. To be honest, your price range will determine which area to focus on more!

Have you been pre-approved with a lender? If you have not talked to anyone locally in Bakersfield, give me a call or send me an email and I can give you a few names of lenders that are reputable, efficient and easy to work with. Once you have been pre-approved, we can start looking at homes.

I would be happy to set you up with emails from the MLS even before you get to Bakersfield, so you can get familiar with the homes and prices in our market. My contact information is listed below. Feel free to call or email with questions regarding homes, the market, areas of Bakersfield and lending.

Even if you don't use me as your Realtor, I sincerely wish you luck in your move and impending house hunt!!

Thank you,
Valerie Ulrey

YES, YOU CAN TO ONE ANOTHER AS A QUIT-CLAIM DEED BUT IT DOES NOT RELEIVE YOU OF THE MORTGAGE RESPONSIBILITY. IT ONLY REMOVE YOU FROM TITLE. IF YOU ARE WANTING TO GRANT IT TO SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOUR EX THEN, PROBABLY NO,T BECAUSE MOST LOANS TODAY ARE NOT ASSUMABLE. I SUGGEST YOU SPEAK TO YOUR MORTGAGE COMPANY. ... more

Look up the median home prices for the area and compare them year over year since 2004 to get an idea of what the market trend is. You should be able to find this on the internet or from past news articles. Some areas are so depressed that they may never come back to where they were in 2005 but, if you love the home and are ok with the area and you can see yourself living there fore a long while do it. Even in good areas the recovery will probably be anywhere from 4-7 years from now. Who knows you may start a redevelopment trend for the area! ... more

Hello Wanda,

This neighborhood is Juliana’s Garden and is (was) built by BLU S.K.Y. Homes.

The median price for the City in the Hills area in general is about $225,000, but this neighborhood would require a little more research to give you an accurate number.

If you have any additional questions regarding resale or new home sales in the City in the Hills, we would be happy to help. We know the area well and just closed escrow on two new homes there this month.

Thank you,

Robert and Dawn Morris

Your best bet is to look them up by address. Sometimes sellers select not have a for sale sign on their property.
