Hi Maria-- I went to the transit site and here is what I see-- There is a bus stop right on Del Sol Blvd. I entered the address 3340 Del Sol without the unit number. The transit routing information says it is about a minute to the stop from 3340 Del Sol. It will be a bit longer depending up on where unit 97 is located.

What we have here is called a trolley for mass transit- not Rail-- In any case the closest trolley stop is pretty close at the Iris Station- The transit information says that the trolley stop is about 3 minutes and 3 stops from where you get on the bus. Looks like less than a mile away. The public transit program in San Diego is good and the trolleys are especially good if you want to go downtown San Diego.
Best wishes and good luck on your consideration of San Diego's South Bay area!

Hi Chandra, Torrey Highlands is a nice, quite little community, but growing. There are new homes being built. They are in the Poway School District, which a very good district in San Diego. I'll be happy to send you a link to schools if you are interested.

The commute time would be approximately 15 - 20 minutes, depending on the time of the day. State Route 56 has made it easier for the commuters since it was opened in 2005.

I know both Torrey Highlands and Sorrento Valley quite well, and would be happy to help you.

Best regards,

Most the noise in that area is from i5. Traffic noise bothers some more than others so it's hard to quantify. I would drive down to the area during the day to get an idea of the noise. Good luck. ... more

Hi, Roger,

Here is the link to the MTS regional transit map. This should give you an idea of how much public transportation is present in the area you are interested in.
I don't think the trolley rout goes through that neighborhood, but I know the buses do,

Good luck on your business venture! :)

Paula, Many folks that work in Sorrento Valley area live in Carmel Valley. It is probably the nicest area that is close. Moving around San Diego County during high traffic times can be a challenge, so even if it sounds close depending on the traffic patterns and when you need to commute, it can be as much time as you indicated.

This is particularly true for commutes that go west to east since each route is heavily used and from 92121 you either have to go north or drop down south to catch an eastbound freeway. Going North on I5 can be very busy but commute times will be much less.

I would encourage you to try driving anything that you are considering to get the reality of the commute. I live in downtown San Diego and work up and down the coastal markets. A trip to Carmel Valley can take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour depending on the time of day.

Hope this helps, you can also check on Google Maps to see real time traffic results - this may give you some idea since you are not in the area.
