Dear Brownbearie,

It doesn't show what you are looking at for $1200 per month in Clairemont Mesa East. Since I've lived in the area since 1988 I can tell you for that price you'd be getting a one bedroom condo or a dummy small house on a main street.

There are lots of scams out there. People take our listing data off the internet and post bogus ads. So it's the old adage... if it's too good to be true it is.

If there is something I can help you with, please feel free to contact me directly.
Thanks,
Denise Gleavey, Realtor®

Hi Pat,

If you are looking for a rental, Craigslist is the way to go. 85% to 95% of all properties leased in San Diego are filled through Craigslist. Act as quickly as you can on an ad as the rental market lively and fast paced.

Be on the lookout for "looks too good to be true" ads as there are some scam artists that post rental ads. Make sure you talk to the person handling the rental (owner, agent or property manager) and meet them to see the property.

Best of luck,

I'm sure you have been looking on trulia and other sites to find that property and that might be the best way to do it. Rentals usually go pretty quickly so if you like it you need to act fast. Are you coming from out of town? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Having no credit is far better than having bad credit. If you can show no bad credit and can show some references from the past and that you have a job then you have a good chance. If you have no job any landlord will wonder how you will pay them. Offering to pay 2 or more months in advance and keeping it paid in advance is a trick that might help while you get some good credit history. ... more

There are many options you can take. Just about every home rental will allow pets with a deposit. To suggest anything, your desired area, beds/bath, and your price range would need to be known. Let me know if i could answer anything else.
