Kari Shea answered:

When looking for rentals, your best bet is Craigslist. 85% to 95% of all rentals leased in San Diego County are fulfilled using Craigslist. It is used by owners, property management companies and agents alike.

The best way to search is to put the zip code in the search box and then enter the rest of your parameters. Check often and call/e-mail right away as many rentals move quickly!

Lastly, beware of rental scam listings and ads that "look too good to be true”. Make sure you talk to the person managing the property and meet them to see it. Scams usually involve people asking for a deposit prior to seeing the property or filling out a rental application.

Best of luck to you,

Ramona has great neighborhoods to live in. The San Diego Country Estates is a small community in southern Ramona that has great amenities provided to its residents. These include horse trails and arenas, its own golf course, parks and pools. The San Diego Sheriff's and police departments provide an awesome resource that tracks and maps EVERY crime reported down the its exact location. You can search a specific address and view the crimes that have been reported in the past day, week, month etc. Just Google ''San Diego crime map'' and it should pop right up! Then, when you are ready to start the house hunt, let me know, I'll be happy to send you the listings that are available in Ramona! ... more

This is more of a question for the local building/zoning department who could answer the local code requirements. If it was installed in 2007 there should be permits files, I would ask about that to make sure they had them. If they had them then the code requirements for the time should have been checked and approved. But check to be sure if you have a question. ... more

Marcie Sands answered:

That is a very subjective question and more a matter of preference. What do you plan to do in retirement? (Hobbies, Travel etc...) What climate do you prefer? How much land/home do you want to maintain, what is your budget? How far is your commute from family? Is proximity to a Hospital important to you? Does Ramona meet your needs? Have you lived there before or visited? Do you have friends there? Do you have pets? Do you plan on staying there a long time? Ramona is awesome for some, and not so much for others. All things to consider.

Ramona usually has hot, dry summers in the 80's 90's during the day. You are about an hour from the coast if you wanted to drive west to the beach. You can also drive 30 minutes further up the mountain to Julian for a bit cooler weather and more mountains.

Good question and the answer is yes. If a home doesn't sell at auction for the minimum price they are willing to accept. I often times see it back on the market in a relatively short time. saw this more frequently last summer then I am seeing right now.

Hope this helps.

Ownership is usually found in the property records.
In Florida we go to the county property appraiser's web site. I'm sure a Realtor from Ramona will be able to stear you in the right direction.
