That's a great question. If you purchased a home you should have received the HOA resale packet. It contains all of the rules and regulations. By law, you should of had 5 days to review it.

If you didn't recieve an HOA packet, contact your HOA by phone and ask them.

Alternative: Ask a neighbor.

Kim and I have lived in Summerlin and Green Valley/Henderson and we prefer Green Valley because of the slower pace, greater number of parks/walking paths. Henderson just made the list of top cities to live. So here are some items to consider for you to think about: If you like the mountains and faster pace of life go to Summerlin because it's close to Mt. Charelston. If you like going to the Lake, fishing, boating, slower pace of life and many parks, walking paths go to Green Valley or Green Valley Ranch, 7 Hills are. Both are same distance to the strip. The area with the lowest crime rate is 7 Hills/Anthem which boarders Green Valley/Green Valley Ranch. Try to get a condo or townhouse if you can go up to 850-900 per month. If you need any other information about car care, hair nails, places to go and see just let us know. If you want to make friends fast, extend your self, join some clubs, church, etc. Oh..please guard you moving truck if you're using one...they get stolen a lot so protect it if you have to park it for a night or two prior to unloading it. Hi Elisabeth, I personally would not. Let me put it this way.... I help a lot of people get into rentals and I have yet had a client ask for Mount Charleston. Now I may not be talking to the people that would want such a beautiful area, however my experience tells me no.

On the flip side of that purchasing rental properties can be a great investment, especially in our Valley.

It depends on who is looking. It might take a day or it might take 3 months. You will find that if you bought a single family home that it will rent faster. On the other hand, if you have to carry it for a while, you have very insignificant carrying costs with the HOA. Some condos have HOA costs of $175 a month or more. I did a quick search and the only single story homes I found in that zip code are in the $1000.00 price range. I would also check out craigslist's or go farther west.
