Hello again Omar, You should be able to buy a home with out any problems because the foreclosure shouldn't have any standing on your credit. If you do run into problems, you could go FHA. I personally would just walk into the loan office and ask to be prequalified for a purchase money loan. You are past the 7 year mark and everything should be good on your part. I think you're going to have to explain maybe where you heard that you'd get a tax credit for something that happened over 8 years ago? A lot of the time it takes 5-7 years to buy a new home because this is how long it takes for the foreclosure to drop off of your credit enough to buy another home. The IRS also doesn't take fresh looks at your credit after 7 years. I hope you find what the answer you're looking for! ... more
