There are many reasons. From a financial point, most people remodel the room where they spend the most time and want the modern upgrades for function and fashion. The kitchen remodel, from cupboards and counters, to appliances and flooring is a costly undertaking. If the homeowner is on a budget, that and other living areas would come first. Another reason is that the home may have been a rental (maybe to U of A staff or students) and the money invested in changing out the bathroom tile wouldn't increase the rental amount they are able to charge, so why make the investment if the bathroom is in good working order. There is no actual financial worth to keeping the old tile in the bathroom (pink or otherwise) if you as the new homeowner want to remodel. Most buyer's prefer remodeled, current kitchens and bathrooms with the amenities and colors used today. In the bathroom, cabinets and storage space, showers, garden tubs, and sufficient electrical outlets for hair dryers and beauty appliances have been important to my Buyers.
