Agents are unable to comment on crime or safety in any particular area. You can try researching the Denver PD website. Good luck to you!

Tonya,

We as Realtors are not allowed to comment on the safety of a neighborhood. But here is a site that will help you with any neighborhood. Denver has recently been rated as one of the safest cities in the US - http://bit.ly/zSBnoR . Are you looking to purchase in that neighborhood. Let me know if I can help you further. We are here to assist you with your real estate needs.

I don't understand your question. Please clarify and I will be glad to help. I lived in Green Valley Ranch for 8 years and loved it. I have been selling homes there for years. If you have questions about GVR in particular let me know.

I of coarse am not the police and most questions like this should be directed that way, however I would say no. The crime rate is reflective of how close to downtown it is and the parking lots for the ball park. There is a high rate of car break in's however the vast majority of those happen in the over night parking lots down by the ball park.

As far has mugging rape and murder go, I would say it is very safe. In the nine years I have lived there I have walked home in the dark many times and have never once had an issue. I know of two murders in the neighborhood in that time and in both cases they were realitives in a family dispute.

You can go on the DPS website to get true numbers that are broken down by incident. I hope this helps.

Feel free to ask more or call.

Hi Carol, I would check with the local police department about neigborhood criminal reports. They should be able to answer questions you have about specific areas.

Good luck with your move!

I think if you drive the area and ask the people living over there this question and also check with the local police dept you will be able to answer this question. Things can happen in ANY community so check on the neighborhood before you move anywhere.

The best place for horse property is in Arvada out west. You could still be near a bus line. Unincorporated Adams county would have some property but wouldn't be as nice

One way is to search on DenverGov.org by address, but the other would be to hire an agent that specializes in the Denver proper area. It's the city, so there is always going to be crime, but there are known pockets to avoid and also areas that are improving quickly and can be a huge value to invest in because of that! ... more

Community websites offer crime statistics, and Realtors can do neighborhood reports that also offer crime and safety information. You might also try looking for that information on the Denver Post or Rocky Mountain News sites (haven't done that personally). Anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact me.

You have several options when researching the history of a house: 1) you can contact the neighborhood police sub-station/district office. The officers assigned to your neighborhood/district are good sources for information on what is/was going on on a block and/or in a particular house (if it is on their watch list); 2) the old-timers on the block are usually very happy to talk about the neighborhood (and sometimes, the neighbors :-P); and, 3) for a historical perspective, the Denver Public library has a number of resources to help you research a building/house, and this website has a great tutorial on how to begin researching a building's history: http://www.photoswest.org/exhib/buildings/intro.htm.

You might also look up a past issue of the 5280 magazine which also discussed how to find a home's history, http://www.5280.com/back_issues.php . Or feel free to contact me, I believe I still have a copy of the issue!
