The world is discovering Austin as a place to be ... Austinites are, for the most part, casual, laid back, music and art lovers, in tune with high-tech, world travelers or simply urban farmers wanting to grow food without pesticides. We tolerate those who want to raise chickens in their backyards and encourage urban farms and community gardens. We have survived the economic downturn coming out on top of most of the rest of the US. Housing is quickly coming back and people are finding jobs - You can be yourself in Austin and realize your dreams, maintain a healthy lifestyle, enjoy the wild flowers, listen to music everywhere and dine on some of the best food served from our famous "food trailers". Austin offers almost anything you could ask for ... if you want to search for property and put down a stake in the Austin real estate market, just go to www.mosaicaustinproperties.com. ... more

Depends on the area. There are a greater number of registered criminals in our area than I liked knowing about.

Arn,
Mueller developement built out quickly. People seem to likke it a lot. It is located just N. E of downtown & U of TX campus. The price range is a little high for the college students IMO. Investing? Long term would be OK I suppose ~ as a rental I don't think it would cash flow. I"d need to know some specifics.

Hello,
I think you'll find Austin to be a good place to live. Both areas you mentioned are very good. I'd add Dripping Springs (area & ISD) & Steiner Ranch (subdivision)
If I can be of assistance to you feel free to call or email me directly.

Bill,

It looks like the stage 2 restrictions are still in force in the City of Austin. Here is the City's web page on this subject: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/watercon/default.htm

I would call the city and ask. I have heard that more trains will run but they will cause less noise. But I would call the city and get it straight from the source.

I'd say start taking realtors to lunch and showing them your portfolio. We have clients frequently asking us for referrals to architects and builders.
