Most apartment communities will put together a furnished apartment for you. Or, you can simply rent furniture youself. Cort has pretty reasonable packages and you can choose which rooms/pieces you'd want. I'd say if you were going to stay for a year, you would be better off buying some inexpensive furniture. You could always sell it at the end of a year and get some value back. Ikea has very affordable pieces.

Realistically though, after a year here, you won't want to go home! Austin has a very high retention rate!

Best of luck!

Yes indeed there are special programs for persons with low to moderate incomes in every state and in most counties.

Here's a good site specific to Texas:

Looks like there is plenty of money still available.

Hi, Lennie. I found 2 homes under $900 in Leander. However, if you're not ready to move in November 1, it might be a little too early to start looking. Most landlords will only hold a property vacant for 2 weeks.

I would wait until October before you start looking for your new home.

If you're interested in more information or would like to receive automated email alerts for new listings, please contact me directly through my profile.

Have a great day!

Hi Rebekah,

That may be difficult. I live in Cedar Park and just did a search for you and only one property came up in your range and that was not on 1/2 acre. It was a fourplex.

I looked in Leander and there are 3 properties but they all appear to be manufactured homes. In that price range there really is not much or anything in Cedar Park or Leander.

Please call me if you would like to talk further.

Can you find anything like that in WA, for that price? I am sorry I am not finding anything in Cedar Park in that price range, as far as a house goes. You might be able to find a 2 BR condo or apartment. Cedar Park is a high end rental area with a stortage of homes to rent.
An Apartment or duplex, if you can find one will be your only option.
Best Wishes.

Any local Realtor like myself, that has access to the Multiple Listing System (MLS) can show you homes listed for rent. The service is no charge to you as the owner/landlord pays the agent to show the rental property to you. I know the Cedar Park and Leander area and would be happy to help you.
