You should connect with a local Realtor familiar with the rental market on the North Side of Chicago. It would be easier to connect you with the right Realtor to find you the right property, if you would let us know which areas you want to consider, what type of property you need, in other words a condo with how many bedrooms, one or two ok? Do you have pets? As this may eliminate some buildings as they may not allow pets or have limitations, You also need to give us a little more information about the amount of your voucher, if you need a garage or street parking is ok, if you need an elevator building or walk up works for you, so as you can see there are many questions you need to discuss with your own
personal Realtor.
Let me know if you need a referral...

It will be very very difficult to find a 2br that allows pets in the communities you desire for < $1,000.

There are more options available between $1,050 to $1,300.

Just need to find the right spot! Check Craigslist for this type of thing. If you need help get a good rental agent. It's free to use their services.

It is best to check with the City to confirm that the zoning allows the rental you are considering.

Hi Trulia

A rental agreement will call out who the property is being rented to, and how many renters can live in the home.

If the renters claim 3 and then bring in 1-5 folks more, the landlord can ask for more rent or ask them to quit.

Best regards

Dear Julie,

Working with an agent can save you time. You are looking a little early, however, it is not too soon to let a Broker or seasoned leasing agent know what you criteria is so that as listing come on line s/he can let you know.

Additionally to information you have already provided the additional information needed are price range, number of bedrooms, laundry requirements, and parking.

Best of Luck,

I would recommend finding a broker or experienced leasing agent for the area you want to live. Also when I have had people call me with vouchers and we have nothing in house. I send people to craigslist. Go to housing and in the search criteria place section 8 and the neighborhood often you will find someone who has a place.

Best of Luck and Happy Holidays,
