If there was a change in the deed, refinance, name change/marriage, etc the property will show as transferring (of some sort). It depends on how that county records their properties. Because of this, you see things similar to what most real estate websites call sales. You should probably focus your search on Richfield, South Minneapolis, Bloomington, Burnsville, Eagan, Apple Valley.

There's a lot of folks who work in downtown Minneapolis (9-5 M-F) who use the mass transit options which are excellent in Burnsville, Apple Valley, Bloomington. But you would still be within 30 minutes of downtown. Check out metrotransit.org.

Personally I would find the prospects of driving from Brooklyn Park to Bloomington to be quickly tedious.

Keep in mind that opinions are often suggestive--as for crime--your best source of information is the local police department--why not visit/call and ask all your questions; as for the schools--what may be good one is not necessarily the case for another--why not visit the district, ask for a tour of the facilities, speak to the principal, teachers, etc.---and as far as neighborhood--drive through more than once and at different times of day, check out the shops, dine at a local eatery, chat with locals if the opportunity arises, etc., and then make a determination--will your comfort level be reached. ... more

The Keewaydin neighborhood can be pretty far reaching depending on who you talk to :) If you're speaking about the area close to Lake Nokomis, it is both a safe area and a great place to raise a family. Resale is generally good in the area, as long as you choose your location and type of home wisely.
