You deeded the home to your in-laws but your name is still on the mortgage. You are still responsible for the mortgage, you can't get out of the mortgage until you refinance or sell the home. If you haven't all ready, contact a lawyer, this is something that needs legal advice to protect the interests of everyone involved.
If your goal is to be finished and to walk away, you have not accomplished that because of your name still being on the mortgage. If there was any equity in the property, you may have just given that up with the deeding of the property.
My advice to you is to get a lawyer to go over everything.
