Like any other area, it depends. Where do you work? Where do you shop? What kind of house do you want? What is your budget?

Generally speaking the future looks about like the present. There are a lot of houses on the market now, and many more waiting for any signs of increased buyer activity.
We just have to remember that, while sellers are not getting what they would like to get for their existing homes, they can make it up on the house they are going to buy to replace it.
Prices go up and down together, so there is no advantage to waiting to sell or to buy.
In the meantime we do not want to let the opportunity presented by these extraordinarily low interest rates pass us by.

Hi Paul, the average days on market is 85-90 days in Akron. The numbers you mentioned do not really mean anything. If the home is listed right, it will sell at about 95%+ of list. At least that is what I get. There are a lot of bank owned and short sale homes going on that are driving average sold prices down. David ... more

Hello Ken,

Yes, to all your questions. I live in Akron in an area known as Firestone Park. I am in my fifties and have lived in the Park since I was in grade school. Prices range from in the $80's to over $150,000. There are areas such as Green, Uniontown, Hartville, Norton, Wadsworth, Cuyahoga Falls, and on and on. We are considered to be one of the most affordable areas for homes in tha USA! From Akron to Cleveland there are great neighborhoods to live in. Please check out my website and feel free to call or email me with any questions. No obligations, just help!

Thank you,

David
