We raised 3 kids in German Village until the oldest finished 8th grade. It has been 15 years since we moved out of the Village. It was not a place where you can just let your kids roam freely. Our kids were generally restricted to playing in the yard. We had one incident where my son had gone to the grocery store on his bike and was ambused by 3 kids on his way home. They stopped him and stole his tennis shoes but did not physically harm him. There were very few other kids in the area for playmates. Most parents send their kids to private schools such as St. Paul's Lutheran or St. Mary's, etc. We were happy to be able to move out to the country to fresh air and a small school district. Although the two oldest had trouble adjusting from such a small private Christian school, we were really pleased with the social, sports and other activities that were available to them. We also felt safe letting them ride their bikes, roam freely at football games, and play with friends on our street. ... more

Hi Kammous,

Contact a real estate attorney before you buy anyting in regards to this project. In some areas you can only put a mobile home on 5 acre lots. In some areas the home has to be a modular home and meet certain standards of construction before it can be moved unto a lot. You need to kow if the lot you buy you will be able to legally place a mobile home on it.
Then there is the issue of who pays for what inregards to connecting utilities. Please talk with an real estate attorney to help you through all phases of this, even the negotiations when purchasing the mobile home which can be fraught with minor complications which can cost you hundreds of dollars.
All the best,
Jeffrey Paeltz, SFR

Not at all sure what "Urban Food Desert" means! The KLD is where I personally live and we have seen tremendous progress here within the last few years. Main every Saturday (or you can always go 1.8 miles to the North Market) we've got Yellow Brick Pizza; the Angry Baker; and Black Creek Bistro - a Columbus Dispatch Top 10 Restuarant! ... more

It's time to chat with a real-estate attorney, and have him/her review your title to determine if/how that HOA affects you.

Hey, Jenell, I wouldn't depend on what others say regarding this question (unless they actually live there). This is something you might want to check out yourself by driving/walking the neighborhood and asking people who live there. A Realtor's opinon might be biased, especially if they don't actually live in Berwick.

Good Luck!
