YES! There are several excellent schools. Are you looking for public? Private? Elementary? Middle? High? Does your student require special programs? What are your student’s special interests? Not to over simplify your quest but choosing a school is very similar to choosing your home. What are your absolute requirements? General wants? Then your dream list? Everybody needs education, but what specifically are your absolute requirements? General wants? Your dream list? There are several websites that offer school ratings and statistics to help narrow your search. MEMPHIS Magazine has a whole section on education in the August issue. Good Luck!

What a coincidence, I am in the process of investigating the Memphis area as we are planning for a move. There are a lot of great communities in the Memphis metro area.
Collierville is a nice area. We have friends who live there and have sent their kids to school there. They are well pleased with the area. We are also investigating the northern part of Mississippi ie Southaven, Olive Branch, Horn Lake. Like most Metropolitan areas there are areas that have a higher crime rate and areas that are great living. If you would like to chat more, my email is I have a close friend who is a Realtor, if you would like her info I would be happy to give as well. Good luck!
p.s. cost of living is pretty good.

If you can commute, there are townships north of Memphis - Millington, Covington, etc. It's still quiet and away from the Memphis traffic. That is only if you want to commute tho'.

The homes in this zip code are all older homes built in the 1940's-1950's. On our MLX exchange the list prices ranged from $7500 to $125000 and there are currently 160+ listed. Some are investment rentals and others are lived in by homeowner. I do not know the ward, but the district is #7. Go to to check out the schools for the 38108 zip code.
