You may want to check back in May. Homes in Memphis don't last long, so what you see now wont be available in May. Now, with your budget you will be able to find a great home to rent. ... more

Memphis has alot of homes available for rent. However to be honest, it's going to be tough to find one in a nice neighborhood for that price. My advice is to try looking in the 38016, 38018, 38119, 38138, 38135, 38133 areas for something like a condo or a zero lot. Or, 38117, 38115, 38116, 38141 these areas have nice homes and neighborhoods are decent. You can also try 38128 but be careful (like all areas in Memphis, one minute you are in a nice area the next minute you will wonder what happen).
Best of wishes, and let me know if you need anything, LaRon A Jones & Kaizen Realty

often times a house for sale can become a lease purchase. The best thing to do is get with an agent in the area that you would like to buy in and work with them. Sometimes a house is on the market, but owners never thought about doing a lease purchase until their agent brings them one. The amount you would offer for the house and how much you would pay for rent. How much deposit you are willing to put down. It it often set up that the deposit would apply to the loan amount, but would be non refundable if it doesn't close. Again talk to an agent in your area. I don't work in ILL area. Good luck in your search. ... more

I found 3 units for rent right now in the Germantown Rd Ext/Winchester area.
They are renting for between $950 and $1195 per month.
However, they each have 3 bedrooms and I believe your property only has 2.
This might be a good place for you to start.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

It is very difficult to rent at a distance in Memphis. Unless you know the area or have a friend that can give you guidance it is easy to get in an area you might not like. I have many calls from out of state people wanting to rent a cheap rental due to the price, but I am reasonably sure they wouldn't want it, but as an agent we can't say anything. We do have houses that we rent to people stationed in Millington and also manage quite a few for military owners as well who have transferred out.
