amandacain 76, this is a subjective question, relative to your personal perception of safety.

Suggest that you visit the following websites:
Hillsborough sheriff's website re: crime map.

Both will be able to provide you with most current and accurate information. You can use this information to determine for yourself, where you will feel most safe.

Best regards,

The best way to find out what the area is like for you is to contact the local police department. They can answer that question better than a Realtor can.

Which neighborhood are you asking about. Tampa is a very large area to be requesting information on.

I would recommend that you either call the Tampa police dept or the Hillsborough County Sherrifs office and ask for the Community Relations officer. They are qualified and happy to talk with you about crime statistics and are the best source for any information about a neighborhoodl.

Hope this helps.

Josh, I would be more then willing to help. You have so many variables here, it would be best to contact me direct. I do shop there, but we have 2 huge malls going in, just up BBD, that will probably put a hurting on many of the stores in there, depending on what type they are. Some will be fine and others not so much. Like I said, many different variables. Contact me to further discuss. Thanks.

I would call the City of Tampa police department (regular number, not 911) and ask to speak to someone about the crime stats for that area. I wish you the best of luck!

Not sure what you mean by "how is" but usually people want to know about condition, values, amenities, crime, schools, traffic. So you might really be asking something else but:

There are 317 properties for sale in that area at the moment and they start at condos for $85K to a 2500 sq.ft. home with a community pool for $289K. There have been 258 homes sold since Jan 1 of 2007 ranging from $67K to $482K so it's a reasonably balanced market in that area. There are a few foreclosures for sale there too.

Temple Terrace is an old area of Tampa that has some charm, is located close to USF and down town, the Hillsborough River (although this has little value to the area) and University Mall and the Moffit Cancer Research center and Shriners Hospital for children. But... there are some high crime areas in this region so I'm going to encourage you to do your own research. Only you can be comfortable with the facts you receive.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.
