A certain level of quiet is typically expected after 11 pm in residential areas. However, in downtown areas, especially where there are restaurants and nightclubs, the noise levels are typically higher until around 1 AM. In order to check the area of your Fort Lauderdale home, you may want to ask the police department if there are specific ordinances for various areas of the city.

Hi Skp,

Thanks for reaching out. Do you have the listing on Trulia that you can show us? That way we can help you find an agent who specifically knows the area.

Hope this helps,

All that depends on your price point and grade level of your children. I assume they will be going to public schools not private. If you provide me with a little more info I can recommend areas to you. ... more

I lived in Fort Lauderdale for 27 years so I will do my best. When it comes to desirability in that area I would think to start north and work your way down. I always considered Imperial Point and Lighthouse Point to be better than the Coral Ridge area, simply because CR has more of a mixture of lower priced homes surrounding it. However, the CR country club area is quite nice and if you can get a nice home in there for 400k now (boy how times have changed) then that is not a bad option. I would think that you would get an overall larger and newer home near Imperial Point but I haven't studied it much lately.

Anyway, I hope all of that helps.

Hi Kelly: I'm not optimistic that you'll be able to change the condo association's mind on pets. However, there are a few buildings on Galt Ocean that allow dogs - it depends on the size your dog. They usually impose a weight limit, some impose none. Playa Del Mar will accept dogs up to 20lbs. L'Hermitage and L'Ambience and Ocean Manor also accept pets.

I hope this helps!
