The reason there are so many foreclosures here in Destin is the market was inflated. The way that happens is supply & demand. With little on the market prices go up. If that is the case for a long time the market becomes inflated. That is what is happening now there is less on the market than we have seen in 5 years and prices are going up again. Whether they go to where they were is anyones guess. There could be some pitfalls buying foreclosed properties but many are good deals. Call me to discuss your needs. A buyers agent is paid by the seller so is free to you. 850-830-5541 or visit soldbypat.net ... more

Hi Kathy,

I'm sorry you are having difficulty with Trulia. If you would like assistance, maybe I can help you. I have been in real estate 12 years, and I work in the Destin and South Walton areas. If you tell me what you are looking for, I will use the Realtor database which is much more reliable and accurate than Trulia and send only those properties that fit your criteria.

Yes, sort of but only sort of. You are one of several owners and you each have a certain number of weeks a year that you can use, rent or ignore. Often there are 10 owners and each gets 5 weeks a year to do with as they want. The weeks rotate so one person does not always get July 4 or Christmas. The problems occur when you want to make changes or get new furniture, you have 9 partners that must all agree. All taxes, electric, water, insurance are all divided equally. ... more

If you give me your e-mail I will send you what is available. The most inexpensive furnished place was a 900 SF 2/1 priced at $1250 on Okaloosa Island with a one year lease. Rentals are at a premium right now, and anything short term will be much higher, as the dates you want are prime season. Hi Tricia,

Most of the pools in this area that are enclosed are enclosed with screening--wind can pass through in storms, but it keeps the bugs and leaves, etc out of the pool. You are correct that humidity would be a huge problem unless there was an appropriate ac system installed, making it very expensive!!
