I see no cons of paying cash. You own your home outright, no mortgage payment and if you want to move, then you don't have to worry about an upside down mortgage. As far as the benefit of being able to claim your interest on your taxes, if you do the math, you will see that you save more not having a mortgage than you do having a mortgage and claiming the interest. ... more

Hi Frank,

HOA fees here in the Jacksonville area can run from a few dollars to several hundred. These fees help to maintain the community and property values. By having restrictions, i.e. not working on your car in the driveway or street, helps to preserve the value of your home. They also help defray the cost of maintaining the common areas. You also have the possibility of serving on the HOA board in your community. There are also CDD fees that are applicable in some communities. But that's a different story.

Hope that this helps out. More questions, send them my way.
Best Wishes
Charlie

A rated schools are the highest ranked ones. Each year the state will calculate every school's ranking score based on various factors such as the overall performance on fcat scores/ Florida writes etc... Another consideration is given to those schools that continue to improve their scores each year. If a school fails to meet certain score ranges or lowers it performance is could very well receive a lower grade. I hope this information is helpful.

Jacksonville is a very spread out city bordering with Georgia to the north and St. Augustine in the south. East and west is separated by the St. Johns river and my question to you would be as to how close you would like to live between work and leisure. Do you prefer a suburb vs the beaches since there are many areas to choose from including various school districts throughout the many counties in the NE Florida corridor. Feel free to give me a call with no obligation if you would like more information. I'll be happy to assist in helping you with your new home search. Thank you and have a nice evening. Hello Jeremy, the short answer is yes. Bear in mind that Jacksonville is the largest city (in land mass) in the country. You can drive close to an hour from one side of town to the other. You will find that the further you get from the coast the larger the lots tend to be. The same hold true with the age of the home. Older homes tend to have bigger lots. Just let me know what your needs are and I will send you nformation on all homes that match. Feel free to call or email me to get you started.
