Good afternoon, Vinny!

Congrats on your decision to make Charlotte your new home! I can certainly make some suggestions based on what you have provided but purchase price and style/type of home and the location on your emaployer will most certainly help.

Marvin and Weddington in Union County are known for great schools, larger estate styled home sites and lower taxes. Marvin is very close to shopping (Blakeney and Stonecrest in S. Charlotte). You will find larger newer homes and great community amenities.

In Ballantyne (S. Charlotte) I have alot of Clients looking at the Ardrey School District. Newer homes, close to shopping with Stonecrest and Blakeney. You will have access to highways for a commute.

Also, the Myers Park School district is also very desirable. Location is agrueably A+ but with that comes price. Alot of older homes that have been updated. Expect to get less space for your money.

I would love to learn more so that I can provide more specific, not general information. Job location, lifestyle, style of home, price and where you are coming from all play into things. We have alot of really great areas. A good tour of Charlotte and a sampling of what you can get for your money would be a great first step.

My Company has a great Relo package and I would love to get that in your hands!

Please let me know how I can help!

Best of luck!

It all depends on how much you want to spend. In an area called Tega Cay, SC. There are some great places to live. Some of the homes are on Lake Wylie. Tega Cay is a small town that has a 27 hole golf course, swimming pool, club house, lake access, ball fields, play grounds, walking trails and a dog park. In the summers they have a monthly concert series in the park. On the fourth of July we have our own parade. It's a great place for small families, empty nesters, and retired alike. This community is part of Fort Mill, they boast great schools and Fort Mill is rapidly growing. It's min. from Hwy 77. 20 min. to the airport and about 20-30 min. to everything in Charlotte. Plus you get the lower SC taxes. You would love it. If you would like some more details on this or other places that I know of, please give me a call at 803-487-2357 or e-mail me at and I would be happy to help you out. I'm a Realtor in Fort Mill and specialize in this area. I could even set you up with your own personal "gateway". This would let you view homes that fit only your criteria. Good luck. ... more

I am in the Raleigh area and do not know much about Charlotte. Since you are out of the country, please get a good agent to help you with this move!

I can give you several referalls to fantastic agents in the Charlotte area. They have all been in the business for years and would be perfect to help you get to know the city before you buy.

Best Wishes!
