Safe is all relative to who you are and any Realtor knows that they shouldn't answer a question like that, other than to say "check the crime statistics.". Your best bet is to do that and to drive around the neighborhood and area and judge for yourself. If you want to sign a buyer agency agreement and designate me to work for you, I'll be happy to be a lot more candid, but for now, I'll leave it at this. ... more

This is akin to asking how long I think you will live. There are a countless number of factors that go into estimating how long the property will take to sell. They two key components to predict how long it will take to sell will be condition and sales price. You really need to sit down with a real estate professional, in your house, and let them ask you all of the pertinent questions that will enable them to estimate an appropriate answer to this question. The answer is simply not something that can be accurately obtained by asking a question on a real estate web site. ... more

Now is the best the market has been in several years. I would have an Agent do a market analysis and see if it makes sense for you, I would be happy to meet with you and go over the comparable properties for you.

There could be mulitiple offers in the mix. Has your agent called the listing agent to see what the activity has been like? Sometimes the listing agent will give quite a few good tips on what the seller is willing to do or what they are not willing to do. Just an idea ... more

That depends on the price range and size/style of the house. For example is it a 2 bedroom townhouse or a 4 bedroom home with a 2 car garage. Are you looking for general zip code only information or would you like information pertaining to a certain area and type of home in 27519?

Feel free to send me an email at with home specific information or if you are looking for just zip code I can post it here but it wont be as accurate for a specific home.

I spoke with a lender contact of mine regarding your question. He suggested keeping the loan... but also to keep your target rate in mind if you want to refinance in the future. If you'd like him to follow up with an email or phone call, feel free to send me your contact information (he's a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist with Blackstone Mortgage). There's really no way to predict what interest rates will do as they can change multiple times daily and if the Fed decreases interest rates, it doesn't always have the same effect on mortgage lending rates (sometimes they increase). Rates are still hovering around 5%, but there's no guarantee that they'll go down's still all speculation at this point. If you're planning on staying, it could be worth the gamble to keep the lower rate and re-evaluate later...but mortgages aren't my area of expertise, so you'd definitely want to check with someone with specialized experience in that field. Thanks for the question and have a wonderful weekend! Wendy ... more

Before considering this option, you need to do some research to determine whether or not the market rent for comparable properties will be enough to cover your mortgage payments. However, if the market rent won't cover a full mortgage payment, then you need to determine whether or not you'll be able to continue to cover that short-fall (every month)--along with all of your other obligations--until you do sell that property. ... more

Hello - I am a Realtor in the Pittsburgh Pa area - and my answer to your question is: GET A FIXED RATE as soon as you can. This is what I would be telling any potential clients. I think an agent in your area would be better equipped to answer your question - I know our North Pittsburgh Pa market - and it isn't that bad - the press is making everything sound so horrible-my answer is BUY!!! ... more
