This is akin to asking how long I think you will live. There are a countless number of factors that go into estimating how long the property will take to sell. They two key components to predict how long it will take to sell will be condition and sales price. You really need to sit down with a real estate professional, in your house, and let them ask you all of the pertinent questions that will enable them to estimate an appropriate answer to this question. The answer is simply not something that can be accurately obtained by asking a question on a real estate web site. ... more

Josephine,

There are currently 97 available properties for rent in Morrisville and Cary with 3 BR and 2.5BA. If you can provide additional information, I can better assist you. What is the max rent your daughter will pay? Will anyone in the unit have pets? Let's start with that and go from there. Thanks.

Now is the best the market has been in several years. I would have an Agent do a market analysis and see if it makes sense for you, I would be happy to meet with you and go over the comparable properties for you.

Just like each section of the Triangle has its own favorite basketball team, Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill all have their own unique shopping experiences. In Raleigh you'll find everything you want at the sprawling Triangle Town Center. Along with that you'll find each neighborhood will have its own favorite shopping areas. Cary has a suburban feel with lots of national chain stores complemented by local businesses. Durham has the Street of Southpoint a beautiful indoor/outdoor mall, restaurant and movie complex. Chapel Hill has a lot of eclectic shops and restaurants. Whatever part of the Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill Triangle you settle in, you'll find the Raleigh area to be miles ahead of other parts of the state when it comes to quality of life, shopping, schools and more. ... more

Hi Paegan. Hope all is well today!

Yes, this area is strong from an employment standpoint. Feel free to call me at 919-210-8388 and we can discuss more.

From a down payment standpoint, it depends on the loan program. 3.5% down payment is a safe figure. There are some 100% options out there, depending on eligibility.

Hope you have a great day and let me know if I can help!

Kathy Evans answered:
Home sellers have choices of renting their home just like selling it.
1) do it by your self (for rent by owner)
2) hire someone to procure a tenant for you (kind of like a discount)
3) hire someone to fully property manage your home
Each of these as pros and cons to them. As a property owner of my own rentals and as a property manager for others, I find that the most critical thing you can do to protect your property is to really check the background, history, and credit worthiness of the potential tenant. There is no perfect strategy, but doing your due diligence and trusting your gut instincts are the best indicators of success.
