You need to ask him what changed between the first and second credit pull on your score. What the score was to what it is now so you know how much it affected you. It is very possible that he's right but also possible that it can be fixed before you settle. I can see him having to pull credit again since you added your wife onto the application. The credit score you stated does not disqualify you. Have you spoken to a loan officer in your state? Assuming you otherwise qualify, the credit score won't be a hindrance.
